"Who could it be knocking at my door ..." (this is not just a lyric made famous by that once well known 80's band, Men at Work) It is a question we hopefully have the opportunity to ask ourselves often! Is opportunity knocking at your door? And, if so, are you answering? Or are you to busy? Maybe the fear of failure has drowned out the sound of anything that could remotely be posing as opportunity! Or maybe it's been so long since you've answered that you wouldn't recognize opportunity if you did come face to face with it! Well time is ticking and it doesn't stop for anyone or anything.

Let's "choose" to enjoy the "newness" of every day, this new year. Because, every day is "new" and offers us a "new" "choice"....and another opportunity to shine!

"It's that Time of Year"

"When the world falls in love, every song you hear seems to say... "Merry Christmas" ....

Yes! These are lyrics to one of my favorite Christmas songs of all time. "The Christmas Waltz" written by: Sammy Cahn, Jule Styne. Performed and made famous by the one and only, legendary: Frank Sinatra. Aaah, it just feels like Christmas once I've heard that song, and the cold temperatures here in Austin Texas, ranging anywhere from the high 20's to 50's also help with that wintery wonderland feeling. It's the most wonderful time of the year! (yes, another holiday classic) but a true statement. Who doesn't love Christmas!

2011 has been an adventerous year, to say the least! To moving from sunny southern California, to Austin Texas...the "Live Music Capital of the World", and exploring new lands and making new friends. I must say, although scary at first while thinking about it, once I actually did it, it has been so much fun. I'm glad I took the chance, and went for it!  I have always been one to say, "Dream BIG", "Believe", "Never give Up", "You can do it!" and trust me, I have had a chance to not only give myself that same pep talk, but to prove it! You know...there are lots of gifts we can give and are given that are wrapped up in packages with bows, but the greatest gift of all is the gift of free will. The ability to make choices, to take chances, to decide what to do with our lives, and what to say to our neighbor. I always think about that when I am writing a song. What I should say to you, what you need to hear, how can I help you get through what you are going through, how I can make you smile, or feel brave! I hope that you can feel that when you listen to these songs. They are my gift to you.

I hope that all your dreams come true this coming year. I pray that next time you have a chance to take a risk on what you believe in, that you take it! I know that when you need someone to believe in you, that you will listen to the words I have shared with you, and you will know that as long as you never give up, that you will never fail! And always remember to "Constantly, Believe, You're Beautiful, Dreams, Forever"
